How to Turn Off/Disable Windows 10 from Automatically Downloading Updates 😜
In this Trick, I will show you the steps to prevent Windows 10 from Automatically Downloading Updates.
So, for this you have to perform following steps.
There are Two Ways :-
⦿ Stopping Windows from Automatically Downloading Updates from a Specific Network:-
1. First Right Click on Bottom Left Windows Icon and Select "Settings" option.
2. Now, in Settings, Click on "Network & Internet" option.
3. Click on either "Wi-Fi" or "Ethernet" option from Left Menu whichever type of network you are currently connected to.
4. Next, You'll see the Name of currently connected network and Click on it.
5. Now, Scroll Down and you will see the option showing "Set as metered connection" under Metered Connection. It will be Off.
6. Just Turn it On. Now your Windows 10 will not download any updates whenever you will be connected to that specific network in future.
⦿ Permanently Disable Windows Updates :-
1. First of all, Go to "Start Menu".
2. Then Scroll Down and Find Windows Administrative Tools.
3. In that Click on "Services" and open it.
4. Now in "Services" Scroll Down to the bottom and Find "Windows Update".
5. Right Click on it and Select "Properties".
6. In "Properties Dialog Box" find "Startup Type" under General Tab.
7. In that Change it to "Disabled".
8. Next, Under Service Status, Click on "Stop" button.
9. Then Click on "Apply" and "OK" and close Services.
10. That's it. You've Permanently Disabled Windows 10 from Automatically Downloading Updates.
11. Remember, If you want to Restart Windows Updates, Repeat till Step 6 and Change "Startup Type" to "Manual".
